Wine of The Month February 2017

HENRYS DRIVE MAGNUS SHIRAZ 2012

A complex aroma spectrum of white pepper, lavender and exotic spices, star anise and cardamom. The palate is packed with dark brooding fruits entwined with licorice, malt and cacao. A beautifully balanced wine supported by seamless oak and fine grained tannins. Magnus Shiraz is sourced from a unique site situated on the hillside within our family vineyards in Padthaway. Established in 1996, we planted the vines in pairs, their trunks twisting around each other and trained in opposite directions onto a single wire trellis. Ancient red gums stand guard around the perimeter of the vineyard, gently imparting subtle eucalypt characters and providing protection from the sometimes harsh elements of our Padthaway winters.
