Wine Profile

4 Stars, Winestate Magazine

Vineyard Notes
The fruit for this wine was sourced mainly from vineyards on red loamy clay with a limestone base which provided the fruit richness and intensity, with a small proportion from the sandier sites on the hillside, to give some freshness and elegance.

Production Notes
2013 vintage was preceded by a dry growing season resulting in small yields, good concentration and no disease pressure. Autumn temperatures were warm and dry ensuring optimum ripeness and the cool nights maintained freshness and vibrancy in the wines.

Winemaker Notes
Harvested when flavour ripe, and fermented on skins for a period of 5 days. The wine is matured for a period of around 12 months and a small proportion was matured with French oak, but the majority was un-oaked to allow the fruit to shine.
