Vignerons

There are now over 30 vignerons in our region growing grapes for their own regionally branded labels and for sale to other wine companies.

  • Browns of Padthaway

Browns Of Padthaway is family owned and has been established in the Limestone Coast since 1970. With a philosophy based on a commitment to the environment and a focus on iconic Australian wines, Browns produce wines that reflect regionally. All the wines are estate grown from the family’s Keppoch vineyard Glendon Park and hand crafted by winemakers David O’Leary and Nick Walker.

  • Bryson Wines

The Bryson family’s unique estate vineyard is located in the premium cool climate region of Padthaway. Terra rossa soil, environmentally friendly viticulture, low yield and exceptional fruit are how they consistently produce some of the region’s finest wines.

  • Cardiness

Cardiness lies in the heart of Padthaway with gentle slopes, red-brown clays over limestone and sustaining, abundant high-quality groundwater and the neutral free-draining soils of this very old Land. John & Julie Summers farm grass-fed cattle, sustainable pastures and grow wine grapes on the lower slopes, authentic to the qualities of this place.

  • Farmer's Leap

Farmers are no strangers to risk. But when you know your land and what makes it tick, such risks often reap great rewards. When Scott Longbottom and Cheryl Merrett took the leap to plant vines on their Padthaway land in 1993, they applied the know-how handed down from three generations of farmers. This place is part of their DNA.

  • Landaire at Padthaway Estate

David grew up with vineyards on his family property and combinedwith Carolyn’s background in science, we have over the past 16 years developed and managed our own vineyard. In this time our focus was constantly on improving the management of our vines and understanding how they grow best in the soils and climate. The small parcels of grapes for our Landaire wines are carefully selected from our Glendon vineyard in Padthaway and the winemaking continues the attention to detail. Landaire symbolises the importance of both the ‘land’ and ‘air’ to the environment in which we grow our vines and ultimately our wine.

  • Oparina

Oparina Wines reflect the work and passion of 3 generations of farming and wine production in South Australia’s Padthaway Wine Region. A hands-on approach to small parcel wine production by owner/vigneron Phil Brown, along with winemaker Sue Bell, allows Oparina to carefully monitor and create the optimum selection of wines from our premium grapes. Small batch fermentation with natural yeasts, attention to detail and the use of premium oak allows the wine to be created and aged to produce the best possible expression of the fruit, which will continue to develop as the wines mature.

  • Penfolds

The success of Penfolds has been driven by the generations of visionaries and innovators. From the beginning in 1844 to today, the merging of science, art and innovation has driven Penfolds to become one of Australia's most famed and respected winemakers.
